One of my first assignments for Harpers and Queen. He received me in an empty flat in Saint James. I saw two spot lights on a bare wall and turned them to make of him what I felt was an intriguing mixture of the puritanical and the devilish, the cigarette being a visual euphemism for his famous drug addiction.
